Charles & Ray Eames are rightly recognized as the greatest force in the 20th century American design. Yet for the Eameses design was not simply a question of objects and architecture.

Armed with teir cameras, from the 1950s onwards, the couple paid frequent visits to the film shoots of their friend, director Billy Wilder. From Hollywood studios to on-location shoots, they took thousands of photographs of actors and actresses, extras, technicians and equipment. Eames & Hollywood presents 160 of these fascinating yet little known images, many of which are presented here for the first time.
This book reveals how the designers-turned-artists placed photography at the centre of their work and even used Wilder's cinema as model for their design practice.
